About Us

MINDS CAMEROON is a registered non profit  community-based mental health and psychosocial support organization with its registration number (037/c/72NW06/AR/2015)  established in 2015 in Mbengwi with its head office located in Buea, Cameroon. For over a decade, the organization has worked tirelessly to improve access to mental health services, strengthen psychosocial support systems, combat stigma, and promote community well-being among vulnerable individuals and communities across Cameroon.

The organization was founded in response to the growing burden of untreated mental health conditions, trauma, emotional distress, substance abuse, and psychosocial challenges affecting communities in Cameroon, particularly in conflict-affected and underserved areas. Through community outreach, health education, counselling services, psychosocial support programs, capacity-building initiatives, and partnerships with national and international stakeholders.

MINDS CAMEROON has become a trusted institution for mental health care and advocacy. The organisation also serves as a referral and treatment hub for individuals with severe and critical mental health conditions requiring specialized care, psychosocial stabilization, and long-term support.

Our vision is to have a society where mental health is valued, mental illness is treated with dignity and respect, and all individuals have access to quality mental healthcare and psychosocial support.

Our mission is to provide accessible, professional, compassionate, and evidence-based mental health and substance rehabilitation services that promote recovery, dignity, human rights, and social inclusion.

We believe that mental health is a fundamental human right and that every person deserves access to compassionate, professional, and evidence-based mental health care regardless of their background or circumstances.

Our work focuses on mental health promotion, prevention, treatment support, psychosocial support, rehabilitation, advocacy, research, community awareness, and the economic empowerment of vulnerable populations. We collaborate with communities, healthcare providers, educational institutions, government agencies, and development partners to build resilient communities where mental health is understood, valued, and prioritized.
